The short version: KibbleIQ does not require an account and does not sell data. The ingredient lists you paste into the analyzer are sent to our AI processor, graded, and not stored against a user profile. We use Google Analytics to understand traffic and Buttondown to manage a waitlist — both are standard, opt-out-able, and kept to the minimum needed to run the site. Last updated 2026-04-17.

Who this applies to

This policy describes how KibbleIQ ("we," "us," "the site") handles information when you visit kibbleiq.com, use the ingredient analyzer, or sign up for the Pro waitlist. KibbleIQ is operated by Adam B., the founder and sole operator, from the United States. Contact: support@kibbleiq.com.

What we collect

KibbleIQ is intentionally a low-data-collection site. There is no login, no user account, no saved profile, and no payment processing. The categories of information that actually touch our systems are limited to the following:

  • Analyzer inputs. When you paste an ingredient list or search a brand, the text is sent to our serverless analyzer function and on to Anthropic's API for scoring. The input is processed, graded, and returned. We do not persist the ingredient list text to a database, we do not tie it to an identifier, and Anthropic processes it under their enterprise API terms — not as training data.
  • Rate-limiting metadata. To prevent abuse of the free analyzer, our serverless function keeps a short-lived record of how many requests have come from a given IP address in the last minute (currently 5 requests/min). This record lives in memory for rate-limit enforcement and is not retained long-term.
  • Analytics. We use Google Analytics 4 (property ID G-DD1KP1K7FC) to understand which pages get traffic, which referrers send it, and which articles readers find useful. GA4 sets its own cookies and collects IP address, coarse geography, device/browser, and page-view events. We do not combine GA4 data with anything else, and we do not run ad remarketing pixels against it.
  • Email waitlist signups. If you sign up for the Pro waitlist, the email address you enter is passed to Buttondown (our email service provider) and tagged kibbleiq-pro-waitlist. That email is used to notify you when Pro launches and for occasional product updates. No other data is attached to the signup. You can unsubscribe at any time from the footer of any email, or email support@kibbleiq.com.
  • Affiliate click attribution. Some outbound links — particularly "Shop on Amazon" buttons in our buying guides — are affiliate links. When you click one, the destination retailer (Amazon, via the Amazon Associates program) may set a tracking cookie on their own domain so that a resulting purchase can be attributed back to KibbleIQ for commission purposes. We do not set this cookie on kibbleiq.com, and we never see your purchase details — only aggregate commission reports.

What we don't collect

We want to be explicit about the data we don't touch:

  • No user accounts. There is no login, no password, and no saved profile.
  • No payment information. The site charges nothing today, and when Pro launches, payment will be handled by a PCI-compliant processor (e.g., Stripe) — we will not store card numbers or bank details on our own systems.
  • No location tracking beyond GA4's coarse geography (country/region/city-level, IP-derived — not precise GPS).
  • No ad networks, no third-party ad pixels, no retargeting, no social-media tracking pixels embedded on the site.
  • No sale of any personal data. Ever. If this changes, we'll update this page and notify waitlist subscribers before anything moves.

How we use what we collect

To run the analyzer. Your ingredient list is sent to the scoring pipeline, graded, and returned to your browser. The round-trip is the entire lifecycle of that data on our side.

To improve the site. GA4 traffic patterns tell us which articles are useful, which ones need rewriting, and where the search traffic is coming from. The analyses we draw from GA4 are aggregate — "this article got N pageviews this week" — not individual.

To send waitlist emails. Buttondown sends notifications to people who asked to hear about Pro. We don't use the waitlist for anything else, and we don't share the list with third parties.

Third-party services we use

Running KibbleIQ involves a small number of service providers. Each is named here so you can review their own privacy practices directly:

  • Netlify — hosts the static site and serverless functions. Standard request logs are retained for operational purposes. Netlify Privacy Policy.
  • Anthropic — provides the AI model (Claude) that powers the analyzer. Inputs are processed under Anthropic's enterprise API terms; they are not used to train the public Claude model. Anthropic Privacy Policy.
  • Google Analytics 4 — produces the traffic reports we use to improve the site. Google Privacy Policy. You can install the Google Analytics Opt-Out Browser Add-on to exclude your visits.
  • Buttondown — delivers the Pro waitlist emails. Buttondown Privacy Policy.
  • Chewy / Impact.com — affiliate-link attribution on outbound retailer buttons in our buying guides. Their tracking only activates after you click an affiliate link and leave our site. Chewy Privacy Policy.

Cookies

KibbleIQ itself sets no first-party cookies. Our only cookies are the ones set by Google Analytics 4 for aggregated traffic measurement. You can block analytics cookies in your browser or use the opt-out add-on linked above. Affiliate retailers may set their own cookies on their domains after you click through — this is outside our control and governed by their policies.

Your rights

If you're in California, the EU, the UK, or any jurisdiction with a consumer privacy statute (CCPA/CPRA, GDPR, etc.), you have rights that apply to the data we actually hold — which is almost entirely the email address you may have entered on the Pro waitlist. You can:

  • Access — ask us what we have for your email address. We'll reply with it in plain text.
  • Delete — ask us to remove your email from the waitlist. We'll remove it within 30 days and confirm by email.
  • Correct — update or replace your email if it's wrong.
  • Opt out — unsubscribe from waitlist emails at any time (there's a link in every email footer).
  • Opt out of analytics — install the Google Analytics opt-out add-on, block analytics cookies in your browser, or use a privacy-focused browser that does this by default.

For any privacy request, email support@kibbleiq.com from the email address in question. We do not require a special form or account login to honor these requests.

Children

KibbleIQ is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has signed up for the Pro waitlist, email support@kibbleiq.com and we'll remove the entry.

Security

The site is served over HTTPS. Serverless functions run on Netlify's managed infrastructure. No sensitive personal data (payment info, SSNs, health records) is stored on our systems today. When Pro launches and introduces accounts, we'll update this policy to cover authentication, session management, and payment handling.

Changes to this policy

We'll update this page when our data practices change — for example, when Pro launches with user accounts, or when we add a meaningful new service provider. The "Last updated" line at the top of the callout reflects the most recent revision. Material changes will also be announced to waitlist subscribers.
